Dzukou Valley Trek (Nagaland)- 3048 Mtrs

 


Trip Details: 

It is a unique bio-geographic frontier and a fabulous treasure house of fauna. During monsoon, the whole Dzokhu Vlley comes to bloom and resembles a colourful carpet. Hundreds of Himalayan flowers come to full bloom. Japfu (3104 Mtrs) is highest peak in Kohima District.

Brief Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Delhi and transfer to Hotel for overnight.

Day 02: Fly to Dimapur and drive to Kohima (74 Kms).

Day 03: In Kohima – Visit various villages around Kohima and prepare for the trek.

Day 04: Drive to Zakhama Checkpost (22 kms) and trek to Dzukou

Day 05: Explore the Dzukou Valley which is known for its bio-diversity. During the summer many varieties of flower sprout along the stream passing through the valley.

Day 06: Return trek towards ridge over Viswema village and trek further to Japfu base.

Day 07: Early morning start climbing Japfu Peak. After summit (3048 Mtrs) return to  base camp. This offers splendid view of surrounding valley including Dzukou Valley. One can see the tallest rhododendron tree in the World (109 Mtrs) in Japfu Range. From base camp drive back to Kohima.

Day 08: Transfer to Dimapur airport and fly to Delhi. On arrival transfer to hotel

Day 09: Depart Delhi or optional Delhi sightseeing, visit Red Fort, India Gate, President House and later board the flight to onward destination
