Green Lake Trek (Sikkim) - 4935 Mtrs

 

Trip Details: 

This is one region very few trekkers have visited before. The trek to Green lakes, the base campof Mount Kanchandzonga on the Zemu Glacier in north Sikkim is splendid walk with the variety of flowers like rhododendron, blue poppies and primulas all in bloom. The Mountain views are fantastic with amphitheater of peaks with Kanchandzonga at the head of the valley.

Brief Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Delhi and transfer to Hotel for overnight.

Day 02: Fly to Bagdogra and drive to Gangtok (110 Kms/4-5 Hrs).

Day 03: In Gangtok – Excursion to Rumtek Monasteries, Tibetology Institute, Orchid Sanctuary, Deer Park, Do-drul chorten, and Enchhey Monasteries.

Day 04: Drive to Lachen (130Kms/4-5Hrs) via Mangan by covering approx 130kms/5-6hrs

Day 05: Drive to Thangu (12kms), confluence of Zemu Chu and Lachen Chu). From here start the trek to reach Jangthang along Zemu Chu River.

Day 06: Drive to Yakuba (12 Kms)

Day 07: Rest and acclimatize at Yakuba

Day 08: Trek to Rest Camp (10 Kms)

Day 09: Trek to Greek Lake (10 Kms), base camp for many expeditions to peaks like Twin Peaks, Tent Peaks, Sugar Loaf, Nepal Peak, etc. This is a huge fresh water lake fed by many glaciers.

Day 10: Full day to explore the Greek Lake surrounding and enjoy camping.

Day 11: Trek back to Yabuk (18Kms) via Rest Camp.

Day 12: Trek down to Zeme (18Kms) and drive to Lachen (12 Kms)

Day 13: Drive to Gangtok (130Kms)

Day 14: Transfer to Bagdogra airport (110 Kms) and fly to Delhi. On arrival transfer to hotel

Day 15: Depart Delhi or optional Delhi sightseeing, visit Red Fort, India Gate, President House and later board the flight to onward destination
