A wonderful trek route which is not frequented by many trekkers.  Very different and exciting lunar landscapes.  Starting at Rupsu plain,  the trek traverses the barren high plateau,  high passes.  A delight for nature lovers, the trek offers exciting landscape, wild animals like marmots,  thar and many varieties of birds.  This region is also popular with Gaddis (shepherds)  It's a high altitude trek requiring good fitness.

Brief Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Delhi

Day 2: Board the train from Delhi to Chandigarh and drive 310 kms further to Manali

Day 3: In Manali – Visit Hadimba Temple, hot water spring at Vashisth Kund. 

Day 4: Drive from Manali to Keylong a popular village for “green peas” crossing over the Rothang Pass (3987 Mtrs)

Day 5: Drive from Keylong to Sarchu (3600 Mtrs) via Baralachal Pass (4950 Mtrs) and trek little further to camp at Brandy Nala

Day 6: A short trek from Brandy Nala to Jukta toward Ligit plain.

Day 7: Trek from Jukta to Morangla base (3900 Mtrs). This easy trek passes through Bans River.

Day 8: Trek from Marang La Base to Marang La (5300 Mtrs) and further to Lun. The trek is steep climb till Marang La

Day 9: Trek from Lun to Lungmo Che (4000 Mtrs) en-route cross a small village “Sangth”

Day 10: Trek from Lungmo Che to Yar La Pass (4970 Mtrs) and further to Dat for camping.

Day 11: Visit Gelukpa Monastery and trek further to Sorra (4950 Mtrs). The trek start by corssing a small River “Dat Chu”

Day 12: Trek from Sorra to Zalung Karpo La and further to Mid Camp.

Day 13: Trek from Mid camp to Langtan Chu, a long trek of 7-8 hrs through the valleys. This day the trek crosses several small streams.

Day 14: Trek from Langtau Chu to Nimaling en-route cross two ridges (5000 Mtrs & 5060 Mtrs). Further cross Konka Wangpo Pass (5090 Mtrs).

Day 15: In Nimaling – day at leisure or explore the surrounding area. Nimaling is also the base camp for climbing Mt Kang Yatse (6400 Mtrs)

Day 16: Trek from Nimaling to Kangmarula (5100 mtrs) and further to Chogdo

Day 17: Trek from Chogdo to Shang road head and drive further to Leh via Hemis.

Day 18: In Leh –Sightseeing of Shey, Thikshey and Stok Palace.

Day 19: Fly from Leh to Delhi. Check-in at the Hotel and relax or go shopping.

Day 20:  Depart Delhi for your onward destination
