What does the traffic jam on Mt Everest look like?
You all must have heard about people who have climbed Mt Everest - the highest mountain on earth. Climbing Mt Everest is not a joke and it is definitely risky but the risk is not from the uncertainty or anything unknown. All those hundreds of climbers who are dying on this mountain already know it very well but there is something called 'Everest maniac' where climbers wants to summit Mt Everest at any cost.
Below is the news of one such legendry Mountaineer from Odisha and there are many such Mountaineers around the world who are loosing their lives.
Above: Death news of Legendry Mountaineer Kalpana Das.
CBS Evening News about death of 9 climbers on Mt Everest in one season
The below video shows how the traffic jam at Mt Everest looks like where climbers are waiting to make it to the summit while those who already summited are trying to return back through the same route. This makes the completely tired and exhausted climbers wait for several hours at this place which is also called death zone. Those who made it to the summit and are returning would be more more exhausted and mostly unable to move without the support of their partner Sherpas who have been hired to assist them for a successful summit. This is why the chances of death are more while returning as those trying to make it to the summit must be given preference as well so their expedition doesn't go in vein.
Nepal Government, media and State Government needs to play a major role in preventing such mishaps on Mt Everest but it is the climbers who actually needs to understand that even in cricket Sachin Tendulkar leaves the good ball or waits as a runner even if that means loosing the match or getting thrown out of the team in future.
Also, the concerned mountaineering authorities should promote the culture of climbing other mountains in the mighty Himalaya which has never been climbed and require a real mountaineering skill to explore it. Such achievements should also be celebrated by media rather than just celebrating those who have climbed Mt Everest. Climbing any mountain in the might Himalaya is no less challenging than climbing Mt Everest irrespective of its altitude.
